Phavian Phipat
Hi, I’m Phavian. I teach piano and flute, and I love helping students of all ages discover the joy of music.
Born and raised in Melbourne, I first started on violin with the Suzuki method, then moved to piano, flute, and later guitar.
Music has always been my way of exploring and expressing life and that’s what I share with my students.
I’ve taught in London and Melbourne, and I’m currently instrumental music coordinator and piano teacher at St Joseph’s Primary School Malvern.

Teaching philosophy
Play First. Explore Always.
Improvisation is woven into every lesson, allowing students to discover music hands-on while quietly mastering the fundamentals.
Deep Learning, Lasting Music.
We don’t rush pieces. We build reading, rhythm, and technique step by step, creating progress that sticks for life.
Confidence Through Consistency.
A caring, qualified teacher guides each student—clear goals, small wins every week, and support that grows with them, from young beginners to advanced.
Our studio is a cosy, welcoming environment which focuses on engaging, efficient learning of the chosen instrument. We love to improvise and to create new music on the spot and conveys these ideas to all our students.
Once you step inside, you’ll instantly feel at home.
At Phavian, the focus isn’t on speed but on learning deeply and fully. Most of all, it’s about inspiring a love of music that lasts a lifetime.
